Pune Warriors India
Pune Warriors India is one of the two new teams that have been added to the list of teams that would take part in the current season of the IPL. This team was acquired with the highest bid of $370 million and is currently the highest paid team in the IPL.
In order to be effective against the other seasoned IPL teams, the Pune warriors India comprises of a strong team with plenty of talent. Though the team is new to the IPL, most of the players have played for various teams in the earlier editions of the IPL. Therefore, neither is the format new to them nor is the challenge!
The Sahara group and the Videocon group, both giants in their own field, battled to get the franchise for the Pune team. The Sahara group, however, won the bid and is now the owner of the Pune franchise. The Sahara group is well known for its support for various sports in India. The Sahara Indian Sports awards that are conferred bring together the different sports onto a single platform, increasing the popularity of the lesser known sports and acting as a motivating factor for many distinguished sports personalities.
Apart from the involvement exhibited by the Sahara group towards improving the levels of sports in India, the group has chosen the IPL to showcase the many cultural dances of India. The usual cheerleaders who cheer every boundary, six and the loss of a wicket have been replaced by interesting traditional Indian dance. This not only promotes these dances to the vast audience abroad but also serves to make the whole concept a lot more Indian. This is the first and the only team to adopt such a novel idea, which is sure to impress a large number of people.
